Improving Knowledge of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta

The Delta Conservancy and SFEI are partnering to improve knowledge about water quality in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Our partnership has added several important legacy water quality datasets for the Delta region into the San Francisco Bay-Delta Regional Data Center. This includes aquatic toxicity and water chemistry data from the Pelagic Organism Decline (POD) and Sacramento Regional Watershed Program.  This data can be visualized and downloaded through the Contaminant Data Display and Download (cd3.sfei.org) tool. The data are CEDEN compatible, exchanged weekly with the State Board and can be analyzed along with datasets from other programs. This work is funded by the USEPA as part of the “DEDUCE: Delta Environmental Data for the Understanding of a California Estuary” project. Over the next year, staff will upload data from the Sacramento County Regional Sanitation District, Department of Pesticides, Cache/Putah Creek watersheds, and Grasslands Bypass Project. These efforts will continue to expand the San Francisco Bay-Delta Regional Data Center by making data from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Suisun Marsh accessible to agency staff, resource managers, scientists, and the public. For more information, visit the project page.
